Meet Kim and Jason Raymond
Petra Ballet Company is a professional Christian ballet company based in Springfield, Missouri. Jason and Kim Raymond moved to the area in June 2007, from Jackson, Mississippi. Kim, originally from Springfield, danced professionally and toured with Ballet Magnificat! for six years. In August 2004, Jason and Kim were married. Jason later served as the company’s Road Manager. Soon after, God began stirring their hearts to move to the Midwest.
The vision for Petra was birthed out of a desire to see the name of Jesus lifted up through excellence in the arts within the community of Springfield. Jason and Kim founded Petra Ballet Company in January of 2008. Jason serves as Executive Director of Petra; Kim as Artistic Director, Resident Choreographer and Company Dancer.
Company members include dancers from across the United States. All dancers are professionally trained and desire to use their gift of dance to bring glory to the Lord. With a strong background in classical ballet technique, the company has a contemporary flare and uses all forms of dance in performance. The company performs locally as well as touring nationally. Petra Ballet Company is a non-profit organization.
